Create Books Using Desktop Application, Web App or Adobe Indesign Plugin. To get started with Blurb, simply click the Make a Book option from the home page, after which you will be provided with three book making tools. You can either use an easy to use template, use the desktop application (Blurb Booksmart) to create a fully customized book. Install our plug-in and automatically create Blurb-ready blank templates for your memoir. Even upload your file to Blurb without leaving InDesign. 'It truly was something you see in a bookstore. It was as professionally done as that.' I usually build my Blurb books with the desktop software, BookSmart (offline). I don't know if the designer books are now available in the latest version of BookSmart but it was quick and easy to build online. The templates are fixed, although I believe you can add extra pages. Portrait: Basic. (8×10 in, 20×25 cm) Download Template. Install the BookWright app on your Mac or PC. Click the Download Template button above. Locate the.blurb file, in your Downloads folder. Double-click the.blurb file to launch BookWright. Choose Save As and give your book an original filename.

1. Basic Style Portrait Book Template

A variety of layout and text combinations are made available for this basic layout. Select your desired layout style and create your ideal combination with InDesign. The standard size for this book is 8 by 10 inches and is preferred by many working on a smaller budget with more creative preference.

2. Landscape Book Starter Template

Ideal for photos and other graphic rich books, you can feature drawings and photos easily while modifying the layout to fit your needs. Sized in the standard landscape size of 10 inches by 8.

3. Magazine Basic Style

Sized at the standard 8.5 by 11 inche magazine size. Print on coated glossy paper and get your professional magazine ready to sell. This template includes masthead, table of contents, editor’s letter, and many more editorial features. A basic grayscale is standard, however you can apply your own color palette.

4. Cookbook

Find a way to share all of your favorite recipes with this cookbook template. Select the style you desire, sized at a common 10 inch by 8 inch size. Choose from a combination of recipe layouts for your images, ingredients, and instructions. Template provides more than 36 unique pages and covers to use.
